THE YOGA HOUR TEAM COMMENTS: The conversation with Andrea Miller, editor of the book Right Here With You: Mindfulness for Connection & Deepening Our Relationships focused on how we can deepen our relationships through mindfulness. We connect by being present to the other person, to listen without criticism or judgment and importantly. how to manage disappointment. I appreciated the examples that Andrea shared from her own life that are relatable, and I take encouragement from the practices that bring us back into present awareness. The practice of noticing the breath-- inhale and notice, exhale and notice—brings us back into oneness. 

DR TRUJILLO’S COMMENTS: I really enjoyed speaking to someone knowledgeable in Buddhist teachings. It enabled us to discuss topics from both the Buddhist and Yoga perspectives. Our discussion about several of the essays in the book, Right Here With You, edited by Andrea Miller, will be so helpful to listeners, showing how we can bring more mindfulness into our relationships.  Our conversation ranged from the importance of being present which Thich Nhat Hahn wrote about, to the necessity of starting with our relationship with ourselves, to our discussion of how non-attachment works in relationships.  The few exercises that Andrea reviewed from the book will give listeners some practical ways to begin to focus on mindfulness.
